Inside Line Promotions – KUTZTOWN, Pa. (May 31, 2022) – Joey Amantea had a race-winning caliber micro sprint last Wednesday at Action Track USA.

Amantea advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race to make the feature inversion, which lined him up on the outside of the second row for the A Main.

“We fell back to sixth at the start, but we got right up to second and threw a couple of slide jobs with the leader,” he said. “We finally got the lead around Lap 4. From there it was smooth sailing as we led about 13 laps. A caution came out. The second I lifted the front sprocket came off the car, which ended our night. It was no fault of anyone. I guess it’s a common problem with these motors.

“That was the first time we’ve been very fast there. We dominated the feature and then had a mechanical failure. I feel confident racing weekly there now. We haven’t ever been that fast until the end of last year and now. We’ve got a good baseline. Hopefully all of the cards fall into place soon so we can get that first win at Action Track.”

Amantea plans on kicking off four races in four days this Wednesday at Action Track USA. He will then shift his focus to Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars Series events on Thursday at Bloomsburg Fairgrounds in Bloomsburg, Pa.; on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.; and on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa.

“We were really fast the last time we were at Bloomsburg,” he said. “We don’t have a lot of laps at Williams Grove and Lincoln so hopefully we can all put on a good show for those fans.”

Series races at Big Diamond Speedway in Minersville, Pa., and at New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt, N.J., rained out last weekend.

Amantea enters this week’s tripleheader ranked fourth – only one point out of third place – in the championship standings.
