PETERSEN MEDIA: Joining forces with longtime sponsor Pacific Highway Rentals and forming PHR Racing in 2022, Andy Forsberg was able to claim his ninth Placerville Speedway track championship and his first Sprint Car Challenge Tour Title. In 2023, the team will be back together as their schedule will look a little different than it has in years past, and Forsberg is also pleased to announce longtime partner, Red Line Oil, returning to the team.
“Last year was an up and down year for our team, but we were still able to pick up a couple of championships,” Andy Forsberg said. “This year we are changing things up a little, and it was ultimately give our team some flexibility.”
A staple at Placerville Speedway over the course of his career, Forsberg will still be a frequent flier at the track he has called home for so long, but in 2023 his priority will be contesting each and every event that is held at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA as the track enters is second year of operations under SLC Promotions.
Forsberg will also mix in more 410ci races in 2023, as he will run the slate at Silver Dollar Speedway, but he also will run KWS/NARC races at Petaluma Speedway, Ocean Speedway, as well as when the series invades Placerville Speedway for the Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial.
When his schedule does allow, Forsberg will also be in action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, and is still mulling over a decision to commit to the series fulltime for a title defense, and will be at Placerville Speedway on his remaining open dates.
Welcoming back Red Line Oil as a full product sponsor to the PHR No. 92 in 2023, Forsberg will also welcome back a familiar face to his team as Brian Cannon has been tabbed his 2023 Crew Chief. Forsberg and Cannon were a strong force in the early to mid 2000’s and the duo is hoping to re-create the magic this season.
As Red Line Oil will be the official lubricant of PHR Racing, Meridian Cameras will up their ante for the season ahead as they become a prominent sponsor. Meridan Camera is the leader in Portable Surveillance trailers.
With the calendar quickly moving towards February, Forsberg’s season is getting closer to launch as he will open his campaign is tentatively scheduled to kick off in less than one month, February 11th, and Merced Speedway.
