CARLISLE, Pa. (June 13, 2022) – A perfect way to welcome new partner, Bubbly Brands, to the CJB Motorsports family, Lebanon, Indiana’s Spencer Bayston put together a sound performance at the Sprint Car Capital of the World during the recent weekend, capping the annual Brownells Big Guns Bash doubleheader at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, with a pair of top-ten finishes, highlighting the weekend with a podium score during the Saturday night finale.
Finishing in the exact same position as he started, Bayston, ace of the Signing Day Sports, Bubbly Brands, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, The Dunn Group, Highlands’ Power Sports, High Performance Lubricants, FK Rod Ends, Allstar Performance, No. 5 sprint car, finished third in his podium run, nearly powering by eventual winner, Brian Brown, on lap 16 before settling back into third. A runner-up finish during his respective heat race led to the evening’s dash where he also finished third.
Bayston opened the Knoxville Raceway doubleheader with a tenth-place score on Friday, finishing third in his heat race to qualify.
“Coming out of a race with a podium is great anywhere, but to do it at Knoxville Raceway, while prepping for the biggest race of the year in August, is more than special,” Spencer Bayston said, who now owns eight top-five finishes in his World of Outlaws rookie campaign. “We went into Knoxville with a different car and set-up package. Barry (Jackson) hasn’t had a package like this before, so the first night was all about establishing a base and having something to build off of. We felt really stable on Saturday and we had speed all night long. A weekend like that keeps you excited, as well as motivated, and those are two elements that are important in this sport.
“We have some special things in the works for this team,” Bayston added. “We’ll be making those announcements soon…I’m excited to get going.”
ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, on Friday and Saturday, June 17-18. The weekend will award a total winner’s share equaling $30,000; $10,000 on Friday and $20,000 on Saturday.
