Braden Eyler took advantage of a late bobble by Alex Smolders to capture the Dirt Slingers Racing League Wicked Energy Gum 410 Outlaw Series event at The Dirt Track at Charlotte last week.

Schyler Brown took the early lead and paced the field for the first 28 circuits. A mistake in Turn 2 opened the door for his teammate, Smolders, to take the point. Meanwhile, Brown dropped back to sixth.

Eyler came on late and took advantage of a similar bobble by Smolders to grab the lead with two to go in the main event. The Kinser Sim Racing standout never looked back over the 35-lap distance and earned his first win of the season.

Smolders held on for second, with Brown climbing back to third. League point leader Tyler Schell finished fourth, with Swindell SpeedLab ace Rusty Kruger completing the top five in the main event, which featured five caution periods.

Australian driver Brady Baldwin picked you the Hard Charger Award, charging from 23rd to eighth. Brown set quick time with a lap of 12.876. Brown, Smolders, Jeremy Zarfos (Team CEDI), and Nathan Davis (Black Diamond Motorsports).

Schell leads Smolders by 60 points after three of 12 events. The series heads to Lernerville Speedway Thursday.
