GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (March 7, 2023) – It was a busy two days for “Blackjack” Brian Brown and his own Brian Brown Racing, but despite the chaotic Sunday and Monday Volusia Speedway Park visit that boasted three features in two days, the Grain Valley, Missouri-based open wheel program prevailed, capping their venture with a pair of top-five finishes, one of which a podium score during the DIRTcar Nationals make-up feature contested Sunday, March 5.
Brown, ace of the Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Mt. Dew Overdrive, HAWK Hunting, Ditzfeld Transfer, Champion Brands, No. 21 sprint car, finished third in his podium quest, charging ahead from eighth to do so. Impressive enough, the podium result was Brown’s second top-five on the evening, actually initiating the night with a fifth-place finish in Volusia’s Spring Showdown opener just a few minutes prior. A “quick time” effort during qualifying set the stage for his entire display.
Although the 2022 Knoxville Raceway track champion was unable to go three-for-three within the top-five column at Volusia, the potential was there, as Brown started ninth in the Spring Showdown finale on Monday, March 6. Unfortunately, a late race turnaround forced Brown to the tail of the field; he was eventually scored 17th.
“What a great night we had on Sunday. We were able to unload and be quick right out of the box and that’s a great asset. Two features resulted in two, solid finishes and I couldn’t be more proud,” Brian Brown said. “We were just a bit off on Monday and didn’t get the A-Main result we wanted. But to come out swinging the first night and earn two top fives says a lot about what this team is capable of and what our potential is.
“Hats off to this entire Casey’s/FVP team..Chad Morgan, Justin Lawer, Lath Hicks, Danny…they’ve been doing a phenomenal job and we’re all really pumped for 2023,” Brown continued. “We’re going to keep our eyes on the weather before we make any decisions regarding our next few weekends. If the weather is good, we’ll head east and spend some time in Pennsylvania. If not, we’ll pick up with the World of Outlaws as soon as we can.”

Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with an action-packed weekend in Pennsylvania Posse Country, first joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in a Port Royal Speedway doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, March 10-11, followed by Williams Grove Speedway’s season opener on Sunday, March 12.
