GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (September 26, 2022) – Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing were on pace for a top-five outcome in Selinsgrove Speedway’s 40th Annual Jim Nace Memorial/National Open on Saturday, September 24, that until a flat tire during the main event’s open red forced the Higginsville, Missouri, native to the tail. Despite the setback, Brown did his best to recover, driving on to finish 12th in the $26,000-to-win program. “Blackjack” kicked-off Selinsgrove’s season-ending weekend with a sixth-place performance in the National Open preliminary on Friday, September 23.
Although forced to settle for an overall weekend result that was below personal expectation, Brown will set those feelings aside and aim ahead, ready to rejoin the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for the 60th running of the Williams Grove Speedway National Open set for Friday and Saturday, September 30 and October 1. The crown jewel event, awarding a $75,000 top prize in the weekend finale, will go down in history, boasting a total Saturday A-Main purse reaching $155,000.
Brown qualified for the 2021 edition of Williams Grove’s National Open; he was scored 25th.
“Some tough luck that we had to endure at Selinsgrove, but we’ll put that behind us and move forward. The Williams Grove Speedway National Open is an event we’ve had circled on our calendar since the schedule was released and we’re proud to be a part of it. We’re going to do everything we can to put this Casey’s/FVP car in a position to contend for a win,” Brown, driver of the Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Rowdy Energy, Ditzfeld Transfer, Champion Brands, MC Power, Weld Wheels, Housby, Maxim Chassis, No. 21 sprint car, stated. “Hats off to my guys. They’ve been busting their butts this entire Pennsylvania trip and there is nothing they deserve more than to be up front at Williams Grove on Saturday night.”
