Inside Line Promotions – BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (Feb. 27, 2020): Roger Crockett will tackle the first two weeks of Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition with the hope of being able to contend for the championship this season.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances with our primary partner, business changes recently eliminated our sponsorship for the 2020 season so now everything is out of our pocket,” Crockett said. “We’re going to Arizona and California to start the ASCS National Tour season and then we’ll see how far we can get. We’re in a position where we need to secure additional sponsorship to be able to take the next step forward in competing for the ASCS National Tour championship.”

Crockett was stout last year during his first full season on the ASCS National Tour, earning a third-place finish in the championship standings after recording a pair of wins, 11 top fives and 21 top 10s in 31 starts.

The 2020 season begins this Friday and Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz. He produced a pair of top 10s during his only two races at the track in March 2012.

“I remember a strong car count and it was tough to move forward in the heats,” he said. “The track didn’t seem very small, but I think it had the potential to be racy.”

Crockett will then venture to California for a trio of ASCS National Tour races the following weekend.

“I’ve won a lot of races at Placerville,” he said. “It’ll be cool to be back there to see people I haven’t seen in a while. My dad won a ton of races there and I’ve won races there. Petaluma was always a good track for me, too. I think we had a streak there where we didn’t finish out of the top five for like four years. And I’ve never been to Merced so I’m looking forward to a new track.

“Hopefully we can start the season on a strong note and we can secure additional sponsorship to allow us to go after the championship. On another note, I’m happy to continue our relationship with Newlin Bar Service and all of our returning partners along with being excited to work with AL Driveline.”
