The DOB 360 Sprint Car division opened up its season last Tuesday, with David Heileman taking the victory at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
Shae Paulo surged past Dustin Griffitts at the start and passed the field. Heileman and Kendal Tucker made their way to the front and started to challenge for the top spot just past the halfway point.
The leader started to struggle with his handling, which allowed Heileman to pounce. He made his move on the 27th circuit and charged out front. Tucker followed, dropping Paulo to the third position.
Heileman led the rest of the way and took the win by .251 seconds. Tucker, Paulo, Cameron Merriman, and James Edens completed the top five.
There were 39 cars taking part in the event. Rusty Kruger set quick time with a lap of 13.466. Paulo, Ryan Scheidt, Kevin Click, and Billy Rowlee were heat winners. Adam Elby won the C-Main, with Mike Keegan winning the B-Main.
