GETTYSBURG, Pa. (June 16, 2020) – The heat and travel were immense, but Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing prevailed, concluding their first-ever Thunder Through The Plains campaign with the All Star Circuit of Champions with four top-ten finishes, one of which a victory at Monarch Motor Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas, on June 12. For Dietrich, the win was his first of the year during All Star competition, but his second of the season overall, also snagging Lincoln Speedway’s annual Icebreaker worth $4,000 on February 22.
The Monarch Motor Speedway triumph earned Dietrich and his team a $5,000 payday, leading all 30 circuits to do so and snagging a heat race victory beforehand.
In addition to Monarch Motor Speedway, Dietrich earned top-ten outcomes at Lawton Speedway (3rd) on June 8, Red Dirt Raceway (5th) on June 5, and Southern Oklahoma Speedway on June 11, finishing second to fellow Pennsylvania-native and PA Posse standout, Brock Zearfoss,
“I can’t thank everyone back home enough for allowing this trip to happen. It was hot, but it was worth it. Our goal from the beginning was to win a race in an area we’ve never visited. Fortunately for us, we were able to make that a reality,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “Not sure what we have in store for the weekend, but we’re ready to get back to work.”
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2020 campaign with a pair of Central Pennsylvania events on Friday and Saturday, June 19-20. Plans have not been finalized, but a tentative outlook suggests Williams Grove Speedway on Friday and another PA destination on Saturday.
