Austin McCarl is still trying to come to grips with winning his first career 410 Sprint Car race last Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway.

Not only did McCarl win at the most famous Sprint Car track in the world, he joined his father Terry and grandfather, Leonard, on the speedway’s win list. It was a dream come true.

McCarl joined the SprintCarUnlimited.com Podcast Monday to discuss the victory, growing up in racing, and running for his dad. He also talked about teaming up with Troy Renfro and the team’s future.

Mark Smith was also on the show. He discussed the scoring snafu at Port Royal Speedway Saturday, his Sunday victory at Selinsgrove, 360 racing, and more.

Hosts Jeremy Elliott and John Westbrook hit on a variety of topics, including engine costs, changes that could be made to powerplants, and this week’s events at Mansfield, Lincoln, and Devil’s Bowl.

The podcast will be back next week with guests and more banter about the sport. Subscriptions to SprintCarUnlimited.com are $50 for a year, $35 for six months and $8 monthly. Members have access to the podcast and all content on the website.
