Braden Eyler, of Kinser Sim Racing, looked like he was out of contention for a victory in The Dirt Slingers Wicked Energy Gum 410 Outlaw Pro Series event at Lakeland, Fla.
After failing to qualify in his heat race, Eyler won the B-Main and lined up 13th for the 30-lap main event. Getting to the front was going to be a tall order.
Not for Eyler. He carved his way through the field and took the lead on Lap 9 and went on to score the victory over Alex Smolders, who is also with Kinser Sim Racing.
Rusty Kruger, Austen Semmelmann, and John Battista completed the top five in the main event, which featured three caution periods. Semmelmann also set quick time with a lap of 18.262.
Smolders continues to lead the point standings after five events. Tyler Schell is 15 points back, with Eyler a distant third, 116 points off the pace.
