LEBANON, Pa.: Fan and competitor costs have become a major talking point through the early stages of the central Pennsylvania Sprint Car season.
Considering all of the factors, it doesn’t look like that will change during the summer months. The good news … the organizers of the Final Steve Smith Sr. Tribute Race want to provide some relief.
The family of Steve Smith Sr. has made a deal with Brewer’s Home Improvement to provide free general admission for 119 fans who attend the Final Steve Smith Sr. Tribute Race at Lincoln Speedway on Monday, June 29th.
That’s not all. In addition, Graphcom has joined this growing event and will provide 119 hot dogs that will be handed out at random to fans. Thanks to Rife Racing, 119 Eastern Sprint Car Calendars will be handed out to fans after the gates open.
Race teams are also included in the cost savings. Ream Roofing have stepped up to supply every team in attendance with one free pit pass into Lincoln Speedway for this special Pennsylvania Speedweek event.
“I can’t thank Brewer Home Improvement, Graphcom, Rife Racing, and Ream Roofing enough for coming on board for the Final Steve Smith Sr. Tribute Race,” Brian Leppo said. “This is shaping up to be a huge event, and none of this would be possible without the sponsors who are a part of this.
“Costs keep going up, and this gives us a chance to help fans and the competitors. We will have more announcements and giveaways for fans and the race teams in the coming weeks.”
Drivers and teams will also be racing for more money before the A-Main even hits the track. All heat-race winners will receive a complete SmithTi front axle assembly, courtesy of Stevie and Niki Smith, and The Tribuilt Group will be kicking in $1,019 for the Fast Time Award.
“SmithTi is producing Made in the USA front axles and the best brakes and components on the market, right now,” Leppo said. “Tribuilt providing a fast-time award gives teams something to shoot for at the beginning of the night. Both are welcomed additions to this event and make it more special.
“The response to the Final Steve Smith Sr. Tribute Race from fans, drivers, and sponsors; it’s been amazing. Again, I can’t thank everybody enough, and we are looking forward to more announcements and putting on a great event.”
The Steve Smith Sr. Tribute is already the biggest event in the history of Lincoln Speedway and Pennsylvania Speedweek. A driver and team will take home $40,019 for winning the main event, and the payout down through is one that will draw the big names from the region and also invaders from other areas of the country.
