Jason Johnson was known as a good, hard racer, team owner, family man, and friend to all who knew him in the Sprint Car world.

When news surfaced Sunday that Johnson succumbed to injuries he suffered in a crash at Beaver Dam Raceway, the shock spread like wildfire on social media. It was followed by condolences and prayers from all over the country.

On Wednesday, hosts Jeremy Elliott and John Westbrook paid tribute to Johnson on the SprintCarUnlimited.com Podcast.

Chris Wheeler, Director of Motorsports for Bell Helmets, joined Segment 2 of the program and discussed Johnson’s contribution to the company and Sprint Car racing.

Paul McMahan also joined the show in Segment 4. McMahan talked about his Ohio Speedweek championship, his team, and motivation to prove his doubters wrong.

Elliott and Westbrook also previewed Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speed Week, which begins this Friday at Williams grove and features 10 races in 10 nights.

The podcast will be back next week Wednesday with more banter about the sport. Subscriptions to SprintCarUnlimited.com are $50 for a year, $35 for six months and $8 monthly. Members have access to the podcast and all content on the website.
