PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting back to work with the NARC/KWS series on Saturday night just a week removed from his Top-10 at Trophy Cup, Justin Sanders had a great run in the Farmers Brewing backed No. 2x as he came away with a third place finish at Kern County Raceway Park.

“Trophy Cup was rough on our team, but I am thankful for the Mittry Motorsports team, and I am glad to get this car back on the podium,” Sanders said. “Hopefully we can end the 410ci season well on Saturday night in Stockton, CA.”

Sanders opened his Saturday night up by timing the Farmers Brewing/Mittry Construction/North County Plastering backed No. 2x in third quick amongst the 20 cars checked in for the event.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Aromas, CA driver maintained his position as the race went green and he went on to finish fourth. Not tallying quite enough night points to earn his way into the Dash, Sanders took the green flag for the 30-lap feature event from the outside of the fourth row.

On a freshly reworked Kern County Raceway surface, Sanders was one of the few that was able to carve his way forward on a very fast racing surface. Getting his elbows up, the Aromas, CA driver was able to fight into the Top-Five as he had his sights set on the podium.

Battling with Cole Macedo and Bud Kaeding, Sanders would then get by Tim Kaeding and take over the third spot. Continuing to charge, Sanders would close in on the lead duo of Corey Day and Shane Golobic, but getting to them and passing them proved to be challenge of their own.

When the 30-lapper wrapped up, Sanders closed his Saturday night out with a charge to third as he landed on the KWS podium.

Justin and his team would like to thank Farmers Brewing, Mittry Construction, North County Plastering, Alkaline88, Andy’s Construction, Roadside 24hr Service, Wicked Cushion, Roger’s Diner, Factory Kahne, BG Labels and Tee’s, Walker Performance Filtration, Dixon and Son Tires, Ernie’s Service Center, East Lake Village, FK Rod Ends, Triple X Race Co., DMI, Keizer Wheels, Wings Unlimited, Ti64 Titanium, AIS Heating and Sheet Metal, Fred Lint and Family, JonSan Racing, Sandblast Service, G&N Construction, Steitz Towing, Durden Construction, Ernie’s Service Center, and Steve Duppman Racing for their continued support in 2022.
