PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to Chico, CA’s Silver Dollar Speedway for the first time since winning the Fall Nationals back in October, Kalib Henry and the McColloch Motorsports team overcame mechanical gremlins on Friday night and picked up an eighth-place finish with the King of the West Series on Saturday night at the David Tarter Memorial.

“Big thanks to the McColloch Motorsports team and my Dad for the hard work trying to diagnose a fuel issue we had,” Henry said. “Luckily it ended up being a simple fix, and it helped us ensure we were prepared for Saturday’s KWS show.”

Saturday night in Chico, CA, Henry got his night kicked off by timing the McColloch’s RV Repair/Davis Truck Painting/Driven Homes Inc. backed No. 17 machine in seventh fastest in qualifying time trials with 30 cars checked into the pit area.

Lining up third in his heat race, the Mather, CA driver hooked up in an entertaining battle with Sean Becker for the race lead before ultimately setting into second. Finishing second, Henry tabulated enough qualifying and heat race points to garner a berth into the Dash where his fourth-place finish lined him up in the second row of the feature event.

When the feature event came to life, Henry would battle hard inside the Top-10 as he worked around the tricky Silver Dollar Speedway surface that was offered up after a pre-race re-work.

Near the race’s halfway point Henry would bobble and lose a few positions as he dropped all the way back to 12th. Getting his elbows up, Henry would race back into the Top-10 on the 22nd lap.

Despite his car getting free in the race’s closing laps, Henry would work his way into eighth when the checkered flag was displayed to the field.

“It was great to get back to 410ci action, and a huge thanks to my Dad for letting use the 410ci, and I look forward to more 410ci action this season in the No. 17 car,” Henry said.

McColloch Motorsports would like to thank McColloch’s RV Repair, Davis Truck Painting, Driven Homes, Inc., ART Speed Equipment, Hansen Machine, Rockstar Services, and Gary Morgan Graphics for their continued support.
