Kendall Tucker opened the 12-race DOB Premier Sprint Car League with a win in an entertaining 35-lap feature at Volusia Speedway Park.
The DOB Wicked Cushion eSports main event opened with James Edens owning the first half of the 35-lap event. Things started to change when Tucker charged from 23rd to second by the completion of Lap 19.
The two Swindell SpeedLab aces put on a show, with Tucker taking advantage of an Edens bobble in the third and fourth corner. One lap later, Tucker sailed by, only to have Edens regain the lead on Lap 25.
Tucker didn’t go away. Edens made another mistake coming out of Turn 4 on Lap 29, and Tucker grabbed the lead for good.
There was a one-lap shootout at the finish, but Tucker was up to task and took the win by .594 seconds over Edens. Vinnie Sansone, Brett Strickler, and Jeremy Zarfos completed the top five.
Jason Nygard set quick time for the 26-car field with a lap of 13.140. Nygard, Kevin Hanley, and Sansone were heat winners, with Zane Scott winning the B-Main.
