LEBANON, Pa.: Support for this year’s Final Steve Smith Sr. Tribute Race has been off the charts. The dedication of the Sprint Car legend’s family and sponsors have made this one the biggest, and most anticipated, events in the region.
Now, it’s Lincoln Speedway upping the ante. The management team at the Abbottstown, Pa., facility will give back to the fans who will pack the grandstand and the race teams putting on the show.
With The Final Steve Smith Sr. Tribute Race just over two weeks away, Lincoln Speedway is announcing that they will be giving a free pit pass to each driver who competes in the event, as well as 119 free general admission tickets on the spectator side.
There’s more. The speedway will also give away 119 hot dogs in the pit area, another 119 hot dogs in the infield, and an additional 119 hot dogs in the grandstands to fans in attendance.
“I want to thank the management team at Lincoln Speedway,” event organizer Brian Leppo said. “They are doing extra for the fans and race teams, people who are going to help make The Final Steve Smith Sr. Tribute a success.
“There have been so many people — sponsors, fans, race teams, and Lincoln Speedway — who have been instrumental in putting this thing together. This is going to be a great event, and it’s an honor to work with everyone involved. I’m looking forward to June 29th and seeing all the people come out.”
The Final Steve Smith Sr. Tribute Race will be the crown jewel of Pennsylvania Speedweek. It will pay a hefty $50,019 to the winner and feature an overall purse and contingencies worth more than $188,000.
