FOREST, Ohio (August 16, 2021) – Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports did what they do best during the recent weekend and scored another solid performance, this time finding the top-five during Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) competition at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio. Westfall is certainly no stranger to the “Track That Action Built,” scoring a BOSS victory during a 2019 visit; one of four BOSS Series wins for the Pleasant Hill, Ohio-native that season.

Although Saturday’s appearance did not end with a victory, Westfall and the legendary “Bumblebee Express” entry did power ahead four spots to finish fourth. Westfall’s top-five only adds to a successful string of results for Ray Marshall which includes a pair of podiums in Western Pennsylvania on July 23-24, followed by another podium at Limaland Motorsports Park on July 30. The podium on July 24 was a victory at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.

“It was a short, but successful weekend for our team. We’ve been fairly consistent over the last few weeks, especially with the BOSS Series. Our plan is to transfer that success into a Smackdown win at Kokomo,” Westfall said, driver of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car. “I can’t thank Ray Marshall enough for this opportunity. If it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t be out here doing what we love, so we owe all of our successes to him.”

Boasting three days of USAC National Sprint Cars competition, Kokomo Speedway’s Smackdown X is next on Westfall and Ray Marshall’s agenda, kicking off on Thursday, August 26. Technically, the weekend blockbuster will begin on Wednesday, August 25, with the Bob Darland Memorial.

The first two rounds of the 2020 Kokomo Smackdown were not too kind to Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports, but the team rebounded in a big way on Saturday and scored a victory during the BOSS Series portion of the program, solidifying a $1,500 payday in the process.
