Inside Line Promotions – NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (May 26, 2020) – Robbie Price highlighted two nights of Memorial Day Weekend competition with a seventh-place finish on Saturday evening during the 4th annual Memorial Duels at Park Jefferson International Speedway.

The top-10 finish was the best result of the 2020 racing season for the Cobble Hill, B.C., Canada, native and came after a week off because of uncertain weather conditions. Price also competed Sunday at Lake Ozark Speedway, where he came up one spot short of making the feature.

“We were really good Saturday, but the repairs put us behind the eight ball a bit in terms of starting position,” he said. “It’s a shame we couldn’t follow it up Sunday with a better run, but we gained more experience and we’re getting better.”

Saturday night’s Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprint Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series event began with misfortune for Price, who lined up fourth in a heat race. Unfortunately, a parts failure caused him to drop out, relegating him to a sixth-place finish. Price proved resilient as he rallied from the 12th starting position in the B Main to finish third and qualify for the A Main.

“We were really cruising along there pretty good in the heat race and we were in prime position to make the feature redraw,” he said. “Unfortunately, something broke on the car and that all went out the window. We made the best of it though and got it in the show anyway.”

On a track that took rubber early in the night, Price once again showed his team had speed as he passed 14 cars to place seventh and earn the Hard Charger Award. More impressive was the fact that he did it in only 18 laps after officials shortened the feature because of track conditions. The finish was a much-needed confidence boost for the young driver after a slow start to the season.

“We were passing cars left and right and if we’d had more laps we’d have done even better,” he said. “We showed everyone there that we had a car capable of winning and I was really proud of my team’s effort.”

Price traveled 436 miles overnight to compete on Sunday in Missouri, where he began the night by finishing fourth in a heat race at Lake Ozark Speedway. As a result, Price had to run in the B Main and he finished where he started – fourth – one spot shy of advancing to the main event.

“We were battling there in the heat race and we just ended up tagging the wall a bit and the car just wasn’t the same after that,” he said. “It just goes to show that you have got to be on top of your game each night or this sport will eat you up. We’ll take what we learned and get better.”

Next up for Price will be a trip to Oklahoma for two nights of racing with the ASCS Sooner Region. He will visit Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker on Friday during the Red Dirt Classic and on Saturday Price will head to Tri-State Speedway in Pocola for the 13th annual Danny Martinez Jr. Memorial.

“It’s really great that we’re getting back to normalcy and racing a little more frequently and I’m ready for two nights of racing,” he said. “Both of these tracks are new to me so we’ll roll her off the trailer and see where we stand in hot laps and hopefully we’ll leave with more good finishes.”
