PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending the American winter competing in his native Australia, travel issues will keep James McFadden from returning to the United States as scheduled ahead of next week’s High Limit Racing season opening event. While McFadden will be absent, Roth Motorsports will still be on hand as Fresno, CA driver Dominic Scelzi will take his place.
“Roth Motorsports is like a second home to me, so when I got the call I didn’t hesitate to accept to help them out,” Scelzi said. “I wish it wasn’t under these circumstances with James McFadden dealing with issues getting back over here, but I am hopeful I can help the team get off to a strong start with the High Limit Series.”
Scelzi and Roth Motorsports have had a great relationship over the years with Roth Motorsports sponsoring Scelzi’s personal racing efforts before he moved into the famed No. 83 during the 2019 season.
Filling in for the team at the close of the 2020 season, Scelzi again is set to fill in at East Bay Raceway Park February 12th and 13thto kick off the 2024 campaign.
Championship points wise, the team will garner owner points with Scelzi before McFadden returns to fulltime driving duties.
“Aside from Dennis and Teresa Roth, Todd Ventura, and James, I also want to thank Toyota Racing Development and Mobil 1 for trusting me with driving responsibilities at such an important part of the season.”
