Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 11, 2020) – A two-day sprint car event at Jackson Motorplex is on tap for Trey Starks.

The Gobrecht Motorsports driver will invade the 4/10-mile oval in Jackson, Minn., this Friday and Saturday during the Great Lakes Shootout presented by Tweeter Contracting and Harvey’s Five Star Roofing.

“We’re just looking to get back out there, make laps and learn what we need to improve,” Starks said. “I think we can take some stuff from last Friday and apply it to our notes from Jackson. We were pretty fast there last year. However, there will be more cars and the competition will be tough.”

Starks recorded a pair of runner-up results and five top fives at the track last year. His best 410ci sprint car result was a sixth-place showing during an Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions race.

This weekend will present an opportunity to learn more about the team’s sprint car, Starks noted.

“We came out with a new car last Friday and are kind of starting over,” he said. “It was a tough night to start over during one of the toughest races of the year. It was basically a Knoxville Nationals night without your prelim.”

The team competed with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series last Friday at Knoxville Raceway, where Starks timed in 20 th quickest in his group. He then placed 10th in a heat race before winning the C Main.

“We didn’t qualify where we needed to and we didn’t make up much ground in the heat race,” he said. “Our times were getting better and better though. We were better in clean air and our times were good in the C Main, but in dirty air in the Last Chance Showdown they weren’t as good.

“It was just good to get to the track and go through the motions.”

Starks’ night ended with a charge from 19th to 14th in the Last Chance Showdown.
