LEBANON, Pa.: Brian Leppo and the organizers of the prestigious Steve Smith Sr. Tribute at Lincoln Speedway have worked hard to put together a purse that makes sense for all competitors.

The first goal was to have a winner’s share that drew attention. Leppo, Lincoln Speedway, and all the sponsors involved checked that box by posting a $40,019 bounty to the driver who tops what will be a tough field during the Pennsylvania Speedweek extravaganza.

But this event is far from top heavy. The Steve Smith Sr. Tribute, which is scheduled for Monday, June 29th, features a $166,640 total purse and a pair of B-Main payouts that total $14,842 each and give all the teams a chance to make money.

“There are a lot of higher paying shows in Sprint Car racing; more than when I drove, for sure,” Leppo said. “We wanted to continue that trend, but we also wanted to make sure we had a good payout down through the A-Main and give the teams who didn’t make the feature some money to take home.

“A big thank you to all of our sponsors, along with Lincoln Speedway. They have stepped up to make this a great event, and if wasn’t for the support of all the people involved with this event, we wouldn’t be able to put this race together.”

Second-place in the main event will receive $19,019. Fifth banks a nice $6,619, with 10th receiving $3,319. It’s $1,919 to start the A-Main.

The top two finishers in each B-Main will get a spot in the Steve Smith Sr. Tribute feature. Third-place banks $1,519, with fourth receiving $1,419. It drops $100 each position down to 12th. Thirteenth to 20th in each B-Main will receive $519.

“When we first put this event together a couple of years ago, this is what we envisioned it could be,” said Leppo, who is the son-in-law to Steve Smith. “It means a lot that so many people have come on board for this race, and I think it says a lot about Steve and what he meant to the racing community.”

The Steve Smith Sr. Tribute will also feature other contingency awards, such as Hard Charger, Fast Time, Heat-race awards, and more, thanks to the 52 sponsors who have contributed to the event. The purse breakdown so far is as follows:
