SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (May 22, 2023) – “Big Wheel” Scotty Thiel and Pete Grove’s Premier Motorsports were men on a move Sunday night at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, New York, utilizing the facility’s narrow and tricky edge to not only catapult forward five positions during heat race competition, but another six during the evening’s 30-lap, $8,000-to-win A-Main. The tail end of an All Star Circuit of Champions swing through the Empire State, Thiel’s official finish on Sunday night was fourth; his second top-five score of the 2023 All Star season.

As noted, Thiel advanced five positions during his respective heat race to finish third, forced to start deep after a not-so stellar qualifying effort.

Thiel, ace of Pete Grove’s Walker’s Game Ear, Lumber & Things, Professional Plating, Scott Thiel Builders, Stealth Cam, Muddy Outdoors, Lutes Custom Cabinetry, Linc Systems, No. 70 sprint car, kicked-off of the New York All Star swing with a stop at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee on Friday, May 19. The Sheboygan, Wisconsin, native finished 12th, just one spot shy of where he started the 35-lap program.

“It was a great rebound for our team. We made some big changes and got the car where it needed to be at Weedsport. I felt like we definitely learned some things this past weekend in the slick,” Thiel expressed. “We were so-so at Outlaw and rebounded well at Weedsport. My guys never gave up nor got down after that qualifying run…we just put our heads down to kept on digging.”
