FOREST, Ohio (May 24, 2022) – Fresh off of a 13th-place finish in the annual Tony Hulman Classic at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports are ready to get back to work, this time setting aim on four starts across five days, visiting two states in the process while battling with some of the best non-wing competitors in the country. Westfall’s much extended holiday weekend will kick-off, officially, with a two-day USAC National Sprint Car Series battle at Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Wednesday and Thursday, May 25-26.
After an off day on Friday, May 27, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their holiday weekend with back-to-back Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) starts in the Buckeye State, kicking things off with a stop at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, on Saturday, May 28, followed by a trip to the highbanks of Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio, on Sunday, May 29.
Certainly no stranger to USAC action, nor BOSS Series competition, Westfall is the reigning BOSS Series champion, earning one victory in his title chase which occurred at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on July 24.
“We’re excited for the busy week ahead. Hopefully Mother Nature plays nice and allows us to race in all four without any distractions,” Westfall said, driver of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car. “This team is due for a win and we’re going to do everything we can to put ourselves in position this weekend. Of course, we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without Ray Marshall and his passion for racing. He allows a schedule like this to be possible.”
