FOREST, Ohio (April 11, 2022) – Despite the team’s initial plan to participate in two starts during their weekend road trip was ultimately cut down due to Mother Nature, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports made the most of their one-day getaway to the Show-Me State and rallied big with the Xtreme Outlaw Sprint Car Series, capping Lake Ozark Speedway’s Jason Johnson Classic program with an impressive rally from 12th to finish fourth.
Westfall, driver of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc, Hempy Water, DPI Ink, No. 33M, used Lake Ozark’s bottom groove to advance through the field, propelling himself to a top-ten position in just a handful of circuits. Forced to take evasive action, Westfall missed a near catastrophe at the midpoint of the 30-lapper, avoiding a fellow competitor who flipped just ahead of the “Bumblebee Express” entry while battling for position.
Westfall kicked-off action with a runner-up performance during his respective heat race. There were 35 cars in attendance.
“It was a solid night for our team. Hats off to Ray Marshall and everyone involved for helping make Saturday successful. Ray’s passion for racing is unmatched and he allows us the opportunity to come out and race with the best,” Westfall said, a former multi-time Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series champion and recent Series winner at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. “We’re going to do our best to get this 33M to the front. We have all of the tools to make that happen.”
