Inside Line Promotions – PEVELY, Mo. (April 18, 2022) – Garet Williamson earned a career-best result with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series last Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55.

The Bryant Paver Motorsports driver hustled from ninth to fourth place in the Last Chance Showdown before advancing from 24th to 14 th in the A Main, tied for the most positions gained in the feature.

“It was a great night,” he said. “The track was really tricky. I knew I had to go where the ruts were so you had to really commit to it and hit it hard. If you hit the ruts while on the brakes or halfway or sideways you’re going to end up upside down or in the wall. I like tracks like that with character.”

Williamson qualified 28th before he finished seventh in a heat race.

“Qualifying wasn’t horrible,” he said. “We just need those extra couple of tenths. Then in our heat race I think we should have locked in, but we got into the wall and it broke the Jacob’s Ladder so we were behind the eight ball.”

Williamson advanced a handful of positions in the Last Chance Showdown to snag the fourth-and-final transfer position into the main event.

“The LCS helped us get some confidence back,” he said. “In the A Main I didn’t know how good we’d be, but we were really good. It was one of the first A Mains with the Outlaws where I was passing guys. We had a really good car so that was nice. We got lapped right before a caution came out. I passed a couple more cars after that, but the positions didn’t count since we were a lap down.”

Williamson rides the momentum from the outing into Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition this Friday at Salina Speedway in Salina, Kan., and Saturday at U.S. 36 Raceway near Osborn, Mo.

“It’s always good knowing you have a fast race car,” he said. “After racing well with the World of Outlaws these are races we know we can win. We feel we can run with anyone so we’re looking forward to another good weekend.”
