Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (June 9, 2020) – Garet Williamson just needed to get his season moving in the right direction.

Last week he charged from 17th to second during an ASCS Sooner Region event in Oklahoma. It was just the spark and shot of momentum Williamson and the Bryant Paver Motorsports team were looking for in 2020.

That confidence carried over to last Saturday night’s event at Lake Ozark Speedway. Williamson turned his recent speed into his first career sprint car victory in front of a proud hometown crowd during a weekly program.

“It feels so good to finally get it out of the way and not have to worry about that being on my shoulders,” he said. “I don’t have to worry about getting that first win and when it’s going to happen.

“Being in front of everyone, I wanted it so bad. It seems like I wanted it bad forever. To do it in front of my home crowd with everyone there was huge.”

It was a near perfect night. Williamson started sixth in his heat race and charged to second, which put him on the pole for the feature.

Williamson was the dominant car until a caution flew. After being tested by the second-place car, the 20-year-old driver drove away in the Bryant Paver Motorsports entry.

“We knew after last week that we had a car capable of winning and running up front,” he said. “We just need to be there and put ourselves in position up front to be there at the end of the night.”

Williamson will be looking for his second career score when the ASCS Warrior Region invades Lake Ozark Speedway this Friday night. From there, Williamson heads to Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Mo., on Sunday for a Sprint Invaders show.

“Moving on we know we can win races,” he said. “We proved that to ourselves. Now we can just go out and have some fun.”
