PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in Marysville Raceway’s final event of the 2022 season, Blake Carrick had a very strong night that included a fourth-place finish at the ‘Spooktacular’.
“It was a fun night at the track, and we had pretty good speed all night,” Blake Carrick said. “It was good to be up front and competing with some talented drivers.”
With 30-cars checked in for the ode to Halloween and former track promoter, Paul Hawes, Carrick kicked the night off by timing the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 38B fifth fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Lincoln, CA driver settled into fourth when the race came to life as he chased after Justin Henry and Brad Bumgarner. Unable to make a move into third, Carrick’s fourth place finish transferred him into the 25-lap feature event.
Taking the green flag from the ninth starting position, Carrick was very methodical as he worked his way forward. Avoiding an opening lap tangle, Carrick settled in and turned in some strong laps around the ¼ mile.
As the race got into a rhythm, Carrick continued to battle through traffic as he soon found himself in fifth. With the leader having issues in the waning laps, Carrick took over fourth where he would go onto cap off his Spooktacular.
