1. We don’t get many first-time winners in their teens in central Pennsylvania, but it happened last week. Dylan Norris topped the field at Williams Grove Speedway to capture his first career 410 Sprint Car win.

2. Danny Dietrich came into last Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway with a 23-race losing streak. That ended when Dietrich stormed through the field from 10th and earned his 56th win of his career at the speedway.

3. It should be noted that Danny Dietrich tied Bobby Abel for sixth all time on the 410 Sprint Car win list at Lincoln Speedway.

4. Dylan Norris, Zane Rudisill, Devon Borden, and Danny Dietrich led laps for the first time in Central Pa. last week. There have been 14 different lap leaders in eight 410 Sprint Car events this season.

5. It should be noted that Chase Dietz has led the most laps so far through eight events this season. Brent Marks (26) and Dylan Norris (25) follow.

6. Speaking of Chase Dietz, he was running third on Lap 15 when he stopped out of the second corner. He suffered a broken shock and finished 21st.

7. Devon Borden was poised for a second-place finish at Williams Grove Speedway last Friday, when he ran out of fuel on the last lap. He was credited with a 15th-place finish.

8. The finishes don’t reflect the speed Devon Borden had last weekend. The Heffner Enterprises driver was running second at Lincoln Speedway Saturday, when he made contact with the lapped car of Zach Allman. He was forced to the pit area and didn’t return.

9. Danny Dietrich has six top-five finishes in eight starts in Central Pa. It would be seven if not for the electrode breaking off the spark plug while he was running fourth on Lap 18 of the main event. He finished 18th.

10. All Star Circuit of Champions regular Justin Peck finished fifth at Williams Grove and second at Lincoln Speedway last week. He is tied with Brent Marks with four top-five finishes in Central Pa., which is second in the region.

11. Four drivers landed their first top-five finishes in central Pennsylvania last weekend. Ryan Smith was third at Williams Grove, with Jim Siegel (third), Alan Krimes (fourth), and Justin Whittall (fifth) finishing in the top five at Lincoln.

12. There have been 22 different drivers who have finished in the top five this season in eight central Pennsylvania events. A total of 13 drivers are tied with one top-five run.

13. Gio Scelzi took advantage of some good fortune last Friday night and beat the World of Outlaws for the second time this season at Bakersfield Speedway. Scelzi has three top-five finishes and seven top 10s in 10 Outlaw starts.

14. The good fortune Gio Scelzi received … Sheldon Haudenschild spun along the cushion, and the trio of leader Spencer Bayston, second-place David Gravel, and Rico Abreu were collected in the incident.

15. It wasn’t a good two-race stretch for David Gravel, who spun at Merced Speedway and suffered damage at Bakersfield. He did rebound last Saturday to win the main event at Perris Auto Speedway.

16. David Gravel’s two-race slide dropped him to third in the point standings. Brad Sweet is back on top by 20 points over Carson Macedo. As for Gravel, he is third in the standings, a mere 22 points back.

17. There have 13 different lap leaders in World of Outlaws competition this season. David Gravel leads the way with 71. Gio Scelzi (55) and Carson Macedo (30) complete the top three.

18. Brad Sweet leads the World of Outlaws points despite not winning a main event in 2022. The Kasey Kahne Racing ace is in the midst of a 26-race losing streak heading into. Tuesday’s event at Vado Speedway Park.

19. It isn’t like Brad Sweet doesn’t have speed. His average finish over the last five races is 3.2. It should be noted that he has two runner-up finishes.

20. Jacob Allen has yet to crack the top five in World of Outlaws competition in 2022, but he’s made his share of Dash appearances. He is tied for second with Brad Sweet in the category with six.

21. Only one driver has an average finish of fifth or better this season … it’s Brad Sweet at 5.0. Carson Macedo is next at 6.2 and David Gravel with 6.3.

22. One of the big stories of the week was California standout Corey Day. The 16-year-old driver earned a pair of runner-up finishes in World of Outlaws competition at Bakersfield and Perris Auto Speedway.

23. According to Corey Day, he has roughly 45 races scheduled in the Jason Meyers-owned No. 14 this season. He is tentatively going to compete in the Knoxville Nationals and follow the World of Outlaws back out to California.

24. Sheldon Haudenschild has passed the most cars in World of Outlaws A-Main competition this season. He has advanced 49 spots in 10 events. Logan Schuchart is second with 45 spots gained, and Carson Macedo is third with 35.

25. Aaron Reutzel traveled to Arkansas’ I-30 Speedway last week and came away with a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour victory. It was his first win with the series since 2017 and 20th overall.

26. It comes as no surprise that Derek Hagar was tops on opening night at I-30 Speedway with the ASCS National Tour. Hagar gets around the Arkansas facility pretty well, and it showed in his sixth career win with the series.

27. Tanner Carrick won an entertaining battle with Justin Sanders at Ocean Speedway last week. The two traded the lead no less than three times during the main event.

28. Justin Sanders passed Tanner Carrick late in the 360 Sprint Car main event at Ocean Speedway. No less than four cars completed the lap before a caution came out. Carrick was put out front, but when Sanders questioned the rule, the promoter said three cars need to pass the flagstand to complete the lap. Hmmm.

29. If that wasn’t enough, Tanner Carrick came down the backstretch on the last lap at Ocean and passed the stopped car of Colby Thornhill, who was sitting above the cushion in Turn 3. No yellow was thrown, and the race was allowed to finish. Safety, maybe?

30. Justin Sanders did bounce back the next night at Placerville and won the Sprint Car Challenge Tour season opener in the Dale Miller Motorsports entry. He is third on the all-time win list for the series.

31. Now that the World of Outlaws have left California, the NARC King of the West Series takes center stage this week at the Stockton Dirt Track. The Asparagus Cup will pay a hefty $6,000 to the winner. It will pay $500 to start.

32. If you are looking for a favorite in KWS action at Stockton, Dominic Scelzi is a good place to start. He has three wins at the facility and five top-five finishes in his last seven starts at the facility.

33. Selinsgrove’s first 410 Sprint Car race of the season was lost to cold weather conditions last Sunday. Central Pennsylvania’s premier division will be back in action at the Snyder County oval on April 24 for the Ray Tilley Classic.

34. Williams Grove Speedway will be back in action this Friday night with a program of 410 and 305 Sprints. Danny Dietrich looks to end his 25-race losing streak at the famed oval.

35. Kudos to the management team at Lincoln Speedway for moving Saturday’s program up three hours because of cold temperatures. The program of 410 and 358 Sprints will now start at 4 p.m.

36. The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour just announced the postponement of the upcoming weekend’s Capital City Clash at Mississippi’s Jackson Motor Speedway. The move was made due to flood warnings and a tire shortage. The new date for the $10,000 to win event is July 9.

37. Brent Marks is headed west to Oklahoma and Texas this weekend to compete with the World of Outlaws at Lawton Speedway and Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

38. It’s been a rough six-race stretch for Donny Schatz in World of Outlaws events. Schatz hasn’t finished in the top five since the first of two shows at Cotton Bowl Speedway, when he placed fifth. His best finish in the last six races was a sixth at Bakersfield.

39. Likewise, Logan Schuchart hasn’t had a good West Coast swing. He has two top 10s in his last five starts, the best of which was a seventh at Merced Speedway.

40. Cold temperatures and sketchy weather forced Attica Raceway Park to cancel racing action for the second week in a row last Friday. Attica will look to kick off the 2022 season this Friday with a program of 410 Sprints, 305 Sprints, and UMP Late Models.

41. There were high expectations on Carson Macedo when the Outlaws visited Thunderbowl Raceway a few weeks back. Macedo finished seventh and eighth, but he’s bounced back with a win at Merced and finishes of fourth and third at Bakersfield and Perris Auto Speedway. His average finish on the West Coast was 4.6.

42. In wingless action on the West Coast, Damion Gardner is four-for-four in USAC/CRA action. His latest win came at Perris Auto Speedway. Two shows have been rained out in 2022.

43. Reserved for Richard Petty and Jerry Reigle.

44. The AMSOIL USAC National Sprint circuit last competed on Feb. 19, with Emerson Axsom taking the win. He looks to go back-to-back when the series continues Saturday night at Lawrenceburg Speedway.

45. Kyle Reinhardt has been tuning up for the All Star Circuit of Champions season at Williams Grove. Through two shows, he has a fifth and second-place finish.

46. Buddy Kofoid was scheduled to be in central Pennsylvania last week, but plans fell through. Instead, he went to the POWRi Midget events at I-44 Riverside Speedway and came away with a pair of wins.

47. We mentioned Attica Raceway Park will try again to get the season kicked off this Friday night. Next week, the racy facility hosts the All Star Circuit of Champions on April 8-9.

48. The United Racing Club season opener last Saturday at Bridgeport Speedway was lost to weather. Bridgeport Speedway has a big 410 Sprint Car show coming up on April 19. The winner will receive $7,500.

49. Doug Dodson kicked off the PASS/IMCA season at Lincoln Speedway with a win. Surprisingly, there were only 19 cars in attendance.

50. Justin Peck is sticking around another week in central Pennsylvania. He will be back at Williams Grove Speedway before heading to Port Royal on Saturday.
